A ‘blend’ of self-paced learning working with DBTD pre-recorded educational videos, follow-up activities between videos and a live online workshop facilitated by the Trainer.
CIMS, level 3 ‘blended’ training package: This online learning training package is ready for:
- you as an individual,
- a group of people within your business unit,
- using within your organisation / sector, including contractors or
- joining a multi-agency group to learn more outside your sector.
Whether your training needs are non-NZQA or NZQA focused, this online, ‘blended’ package is a ‘just right’ option for people working on-site or off-site to work with. This self-paced, online training package, comprises pre-recorded educational videos, recorded by Sharyn followed up by a diaried ‘live’ online workshop that brings people together and focuses on key questions for discussion and training outcomes. This tailored workshop is facilitated by Sharyn so there is continuity and expertise in place to support people.
The exciting part is, that the online training package can be accessed easily by yourself and people within your organisation nationally as well as a reliable plan B if face-to-face training (in-house or multi-agency) needs to be adapted. In current times, upskilling ensures higher levels of capacity and capability are in place before they are really needed. This online training package smooths out the potential ‘speed bumps’ for your training needs in the future.
CIMS, level 4 ‘blended’ training package: This online, ‘blended’ option is available for people nationally. Whether it is a non-NZQA or NZQA focus, people will be able to complete the key parts of this training package online followed by an interactive online or face-to-face training workshop(s). Unit standard 29553 and Unit standard 29554 can be completed as two separate online training packages. Course work during the viewing of two pre-recorded videos by the Trainer will support you further and post-work is required for NZQA assessment.
People who complete and achieve the NZQA CIMS level 3 and level 4 unit standards (32158, 29553 and 29554) will receive the Devereux Blum Training & Development Certificate in ‘Leading and Managing an Emergency Response’. This is an NZQA approved CIMS Training scheme.
CIMS Building Capacity Training Package: This training package has been developed for people that want ongoing support and upskilling ‘journey’ over a six-month period.
This training package (self-paced, online training, online learning group workshops, 1-1 coaching and NZQA assessment if required) can be delivered internally within your organisation or your people can join a multi-agency course: CIMS Building Capacity

Online Coaching 1-1: we provide 1-1, small group online coaching. This can be just one session, several sessions or scheduled in the diary on an ongoing basis. We have in the past provided support to people during a real response, so know we are here to support in any way. People stepping in during a response when a key person is on leave for example or a person who may be new to a key role and needs to upskill quickly are examples we have focused on to date.
